Tom Cruise, ex-wife Kidman both filming in Berlin

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise and his ex-wife Nicole Kidman will be working on separate films in Berlin from September, German daily Bild reported on Friday.
Cruise earlier this month began shooting "Valkyrie", a film about a failed plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1944, in which he portrays Nazi-resistance hero Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg.
Shooting is set to continue until the end of October.
The decision to cast Cruise in the role has caused anger in Germany because of his strong links to the Church of Scientology, which is regarded here as a sect.
Bild said Kidman will come to the German capital in September to start work on the film version of "The Reader", the award-winning 1995 novel by German author Bernhard Schlink which deals with later generations' difficulty in understanding the Holocaust.
Kidman and Cruise divorced in 2001. He has since married Katie Holmes and she country singer Keith Urban.

A bodyguard for Britney Spears must face a battery charge after he scuffled with two men trying to photograph the singer and her young sons at a Las Vegas Strip resort, police said Friday.
The bodyguard, Cesar Julio Camera, 37, was accused of grabbing and punching one photographer and pushing another into a wall about 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the spa at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel-casino.
Camera was issued a misdemeanor battery summons after the scuffle.
No serious injuries resulted, police said. Neither Spears, 25, nor the children — 22-month-old Sean Preston Federline and 10-month-old Jayden James Federline — were reported to have been hurt.
"There were no signs of injuries to her or the children, nor is she listed as a victim," Las Vegas police Sgt. John Loretto said of the singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. She is listed in police reports as a witness, along with one man and five other women.
"The only person issued a citation was Ms. Spears' private security guard, Mr. Camera," Loretto said.
A representative at Jive Records, Spears' record label, did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment, and a Wynn resort spokeswoman declined comment.
A lawyer for Spears' estranged husband, Kevin Federline, also did not immediately respond to telephone and e-mail messages seeking comment on reports that Spears should not have had the children in Las Vegas. The couple are involved in divorce proceedings in California that according to several reports include restrictions on traveling out-of-state with the boys.
Police said the scuffle, which was captured on security videotape, occurred after Andrew Deetz, 24, and Kyle Henderson, 23, approached Spears and her entourage in a hallway and a hotel security guard told them to put their photo equipment away.
Henderson allegedly bumped Camera, who was holding Spears' son, Sean.
Spears screamed, Camera "shouldered" Henderson against a wall, gave the child to Spears, and ran after Henderson and Deetz, according to police reports.
Police said Camera punched Deetz, who showed officers a lump and abrasion on his forehead. Henderson was not reported to have been hurt.
Loretto said he did not know when Camera was scheduled to respond to the summons. He could face up to six months in county jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
Spears has been involved in several recent confrontations with paparazzi. She apologized earlier this month for attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella in February, saying she had been preparing to try out for a movie part and got carried away. The umbrella incident took place during a period in which she also shaved her head, got new tattoos and was seen partying hard in Los Angeles clubs.

For her wrong-way freeway trek in a Mercedes-Benz, Richie was slapped Friday with a sentence of nearly four days in jail, a fine of $2,048 and orders to attend drug and alcohol rehab.
"She's not gonna be coming in here wearing a miniskirt and pumps," Burbank police Sgt. Thor Merich said, describing a spartan lifestyle that would await her if she goes to that city's jail.
"We pretty much go the bare minimum," he said.
Prosecutors said Richie will serve the time in a city jail rather than a county lockup. She has the choice of any local jail in Los Angeles County that will accept her.
On Friday, a somber and subdued Richie softly pleaded guilty in Superior Court to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of drugs in a deal with prosecutors that helped her avoid a potential year in jail on her second DUI conviction.
But Richie, who's rumored to be pregnant, couldn't avoid a lecture from Superior Court Commissioner Steven K. Lubell as he gave her 96 hours in jail, then took off six hours for time already served following her December arrest.
He said she will have to follow the law now or wind up in jail for a year.
For now, she will serve less than four days. In jail, Richie will be able to wear most of her own clothing but anything that might be used as a weapon will be taken away, including shoelaces, belts, high heels and underwire bras.
The waiflike reality show star was conservatively dressed Friday in a loose black trapeze style dress which skimmed her body and kept observers guessing about whether she's pregnant. Her blond hair was pulled back in a knot at her neck just above a scroll tattoo with the name "Richie" and a small red bow.
She arrived and left court with her boyfriend, Joel Madden, surrounded by a cordon of burly private bodyguards.
The co-star of TV's "The Simple Life" and daughter of pop singer Lionel Richie listened attentively as Lubell told her she was lucky that her wrong-way escapade had not killed or maimed someone.
With the tone of a stern father, he said what she did was "pretty scary," and could have resulted in the death of her or others.
"The court does not want anything to happen to you," he said.
Richie could face a murder charge if she continues to drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol and someone dies, he said.
"I hope that never, ever happens," the commissioner added.
Richie did not respond to his remarks. It was her second DUI conviction. The first, in June 2003, involved alcohol.
She must complete her jail time by Sept. 28 and return to court on Feb. 20, 2008 to show she has complied with the rest of the sentence.
"You are not to drive with any measurable amount of alcohol or drugs in your system," Lubell told her. "You are not to drive without a driver's license."
He said the state Department of Motor Vehicles would decide whether to suspend her license.
Richie was arrested on Dec. 11 after witnesses reported seeing her black Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank. The California Highway Patrol said they found her parked in the car pool lane.
Richie told authorities she had smoked marijuana and taken the prescription painkiller Vicodin, a CHP officer said at the time. No drugs were found on her or in the car.
Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, said house arrest was not an option. She will have to stay for the full sentence, pay for her incarceration and abide by rules that limit visitors and perks.
While each city may have slightly different rules on handling its inmates, "a jail is a jail," Robison said.
That means it's unlikely that Richie will be allowed to chat on a cell phone, order in gourmet food or schedule behind-bars manicures.
Just like in the movies, Richie could only see people during visiting hours and would talk to them through a thick sheet of glass, at least at the Burbank jail.
If Richie does her time in Burbank, she would probably be alone in a 4-by-10-foot cell because of safety concerns over her notoriety and because the jail has only limited facilities for women.
If it turns out Richie is pregnant, however, the jail would be unable to accommodate her medical needs and she would have to go to county jail — probably the same Lynwood lockup where party-girl pal Paris Hilton did part of her time.
At a city jail, for about $75 a day, Richie would have access to a collect-call phone, sleep on a metal bunk with a 2- or 3-inch-thick mattress and eat three prison meals a day (lunch fare often is a ham-and-cheese sandwich and an apple).
But if Richie thinks about turning her stay into another episode of "The Simple Life," she can forget it.
"There'd be no camera crew allowed," Merich said.

Carell told a crowd of Comic-Con fans Friday that he's "very psyched" about the film, which he described as a "comedic 'Bourne Identity.'"
"It's probably the most fun I've ever had doing anything in my life," said the 43-year-old actor. "I have such respect for Don Adams and what he did, and I think we're all trying to honor the original and take absolutely nothing away from it.
"Frankly, I don't think I could ever be as good as he was. I'm just trying to do the best that I can within the context of the movie and it's an honor to be able to do it."
The film, due next summer, retains the feel of the original TV show, said director Peter Segal.
"That show was born in the Cold War era, but we've got a lot of political things to satirize today," he said.
The "Get Smart" cast includes Anne Hathaway as Agent 99, Alan Arkin as The Chief, Terence Stamp as Sigfried, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Agent 23 (a new character) and Masi Oka as Bruce "the gadget guy."
Jaime the Robot and Agent 13, both characters from the original show, are also part of the new movie, Segal said, and Bernie Koppel (Sigfried in the TV series) makes a cameo appearance.
"It's be both extremely funny but there will be action and jeopardy," Carell said. "I'm very psyched about it."

The stunning actress, who is dating Justin Timberlake, is not prepared to flash her flesh on film and admits she has been overlooked for roles because of her no nudity stance.
Jessica said: "I'm sure I've lost some roles because I don't do it. The other day I read a script that required some nudity, something topless. It's probably going to be a great movie but I just don't want to do it."
Although the 25-year-old actress refuses to bare her curves, she is happy to be thought of as a sex symbol.
Jessica - who starred in the remake of 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'The Illusionist' - said: "It's extremely flattering to be thought of in that way. It's nice to be wanted and desired, you think, 'I'm being accepted as a woman now.' That's kind of cool."
Jessica was recently ranked number one in Stuff magazine's 100 Sexiest Women 2007.

Before jetting off from their 10-day vacation in the western Charente/Dordogne region, the couple took over France’s smallest family fun center “Le Palace Vert” with friend Mariane Pearl and her son.
Le Palace Vert’s owner Patrick Bernard says that once they arrived, the Jolie-Pitts, Pearl and the four children (Maddox, 5, Pax-Thien, 3, and Zahara, 2, and Adam Pearl, 5) hit the lanes.
Pitt was especially attentive, Bernard adds, and encouraged all the youngsters whenever they hit a pin.
“At one point though, because the children don’t have the strength to always get the ball down the lane, it sometimes stops. Brad thought he’d go down the lane to push it along. He slipped and fell on his back. Hard,” Bernard says.
Pitt survived the spill, but Bernard’s wife was disappointed to have missed her “only chance in life to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to Brad Pitt.”
While Jolie spent time with Pearl, whom she portrayed in A Mighty Heart, Pitt demonstrated his air-hockey prowess.
“Brad was particularly good at it,” Bernard says. “He and the three boys played two-a-side teams against one another for almost an hour.”
Bernard adds: “With only two lanes we’re certainly the smallest bowling in France, so we’re still having trouble realizing we spent Monday afternoon with the most famous couple in the world.”
Before leaving, Jolie and Pitt personally thanked the Bernards – speaking a little French – and signed a Livre d’Or with an inscription to the couple’s 15-year-old daughter.
This wasn’t the first amusement area the crew was spotted enjoying recently. Pitt made a scene in the bouncy castle when they all spent a day at the Aventure-Parc in Massignac.

“Yes. I am innocent … did not do drugs they’re not mine.”
Amid reports from police that they had received a 911 call from the mother of Lohan’s former personal assistant, saying that Lohan was chasing her in an SUV, CN, , Lohan also said in her email, “I was almost hit by my assistant Tarin’s mom.”
Police found Lohan and the woman in a “heated debate” in the parking lot of Santa Monica’s Civic Auditorium at about 1:30 a.m., according to Santa Monica police Lt. Alex Padilla.
Lohan concluded her brief message with, “I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy.”
Lohan was arrested early Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif., and released on bail facing misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, and felony cocaine possession. If convicted on all charges, she could face up to six years behind bars, NBC News reports.
Lohan’s parents have both expressed their despair over their daughter’s troubles. Dina Lohan told TV’s The Insider that she is “sick over this,” while estranged father Michael Lohan told CNN’s Larry King Live on Tuesday that he feels partly responsible for Lindsay’s problems.
“Of course I do,” he said. “If I didn’t I’d be a liar. I made some really stupid choices in my life.”
This was Lohan’s second drinking-related arrest in three months. Her attorney, Blair Berk, said that the actress – who had worn an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet since her July 13 release from 45 days in rehab – had suffered a relapse and is “presently receiving medical care.”

Nicole Scherzinger Not Digging Stripper Image

No, seriously.
Nicole, who just released her first solo single featuring TI, was in the glamorous port city of San Pedro, Calif. yesterday - filming the music video for the song.
According to sources, Nicole Scherzinger was dressed in a skimpy, bronze-colored designer bathing suit and then asked to do some crazy yoga poses.
A TMZ source said that Nicole Scherzinger was n
ot too happy about the chosen outfit and told executives that she “looked like a whore.”
Maybe she’s trying to clean up her act for beau Talan Torriero? She would know, as she’s used to those “ladylike” Pussycat Doll outfits. Gosh.
Shooting continued for a short period until the studio peeps agreed that the Pussycat Dolls‘ leader did, in fact, look like a hooker!
Stunning, really.
The set was immediately cleared until a new, more tasteful outfit was found for the overtly sexual photos. Guess you can dress a wolf in sheep’s clothing … or something.
Great stuff. This is the equivalent of Britney Spears pulling the plug on an interview or a photo shoot because she “looks like a mess” or “feels like a total wreck!”

For two and a half years, Cash Warren was the only man lucky enough to view this beautiful sight - but now the couple has broken up and the Fantastic Four actress is on the market.
Sources tell Us Magazine that Alba called Warren on July 22 and told him, “I’m not in love with you anymore.”
Simple and honest. Unlike Diddy and his handling of the Kim Porter break-up, it appears Alba is at least mature. Within hours, she had dispatched an assistant to the L.A. home she shared to pack up Warren’s belongings and move him out.
Despite the gap between these two on the film industry food chain - Warren is merely a director’s assistance - the couple was often seen partying at Hollywood events and enjoying romantic vacations from Mexico to Miami.
Just a month ago, Spike TV named Warren the “Luckiest Bastard” of 2007 at their first annual Guy’s Choice Awards, due to his relationship with Alba. James Blunt was in contention for that award until his relationship with Petra Nemcova ended.
The breakup “happened…almost out of nowhere,” a source said. “[Cash] thinks it’s for another guy but doesn’t know….he’s totally devastated. But it was all her.” (Alba’s rep declined to comment.)
So, if there’s another guy - or if there will be soon - who might it be? When Cosmo asked the actress to name her celebrity crushes a few months ago, she replied:
“I would have to say Johnny Depp, Michael Caine… Morgan Freeman, and Jake Gyllenhaal.”

Blake Lewis, Girlfriend, Kiss the Night Away at Les Deux

The American Idol runner-up left Les Deux last night and was far from alone. As the picture below also indicates, he was snuggling up with a certain someone outside the hot spot.
And that someone is NOT Antonella Barba or Jordin Sparks, both of whom the spiked-hair beat boxer has been linked with.
While Lewis may be breaking hearts across the country with this smooch, fans of the crooner do have some good news: Earlier this month, Blake disclosed he has already recorded six songs for his upcoming album, due at the end of 2007.
“I try not to be put in a box,” he said. “I’m inspired by everything. I’ve got six tracks done. I’ve got a track that’s very Erasure-sounding, a track that’s Sting-meets-Neverending Story and a track that’s very electro-poppy Depeche Mode. It’s all over the map.”
We can’t wait. We also think Blake should keep his options open before settling down with the woman above. Remember, Jessica Alba is single now.

Why did OK! magazine refuse to run the exclusive pictures they took of the troubled mother of two?
It all boils down to the money!
OK! was set to pay Spears a whopping $1 million for the photo shoot and interview. However, because Britney walked out during their shoot and was less than a cooperative interviewee, the magazine now is not going to pay the former pop star anything.

On Tuesday, I got some one-on-one time with British celebrity couple Katie Price and Peter Andre. If you don't know who they are, trust me, you soon will. Their hit reality show, Katie + Peter, is finally coming to America, and it's right here on E! The photo above was taken just this week while they were shopping on—where else?—ultratrendy Robertson Boulevard.I'll admit I didn't expect much from our meet and greet yesterday. Katie—also known as Jordan—is a blond sexpot pinup with surgically enhanced boobs that put Dolly Parton's top shelf to shame. As for Peter, he's a pop singer with tweezed eyebrows who actually color coordinates his and Katie's outfits.
Why? Because for all the plastic surgery and garish fashions, they're real. I'd go so far as to say they're down-to-earth.
Their big concern right now is where they will live if their show is a hit. Their kids are top priority as they house hunt in the Beverly Hills area. "The most important thing for us is the schooling, because one of our children has special needs," Peter says.
Four-year-old Harvey (Katie's son with her soccer player ex-boyfriend Dwight Yorke) is blind. Katie and Peter's first child together, Junior Savva Andre, was born in September 2005. Katie is expected to give birth to their second baby (they don't know the sex) in June.
Since she's pregnant, I asked about her cravings—anything exotic? "Ice cubes," Katie says. "I think it's just the crunch of them. I'm not into ice lollies or ice cream. It's just ice cubes. I'm obsessed with them."
Despite her silliness, Katie can also be downright serious. She went public with her battle with postpartum depression. "I was on medication for eight months," she said. "There are so many women out there who suffer, and if you have someone in the public eye talking about it, it'll probably make them feel better."
And if you want to do it with double D's, blond extensions and barely there minidresses, more power to ya!

Lohan was supposed to be a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno today to promote her new movie, I Know Who Killed Me.
TMZ reported earlier today she has been replaced by Deuce Bigalow jokester Rob Schneider, who will appear in drag as the DUI-ing Ms. Lohan.
I've now learned that makeup won't be the only thing he'll be slapping on his face. A source tells me Schneider may also be covered in powdered sugar, or he will be carrying a box of powdered doughnuts!
As we all know by now, Lohan was busted early this morning for DUI and cocaine possession.
A rep for The Tonight Show confirmed Schneider will be doing the drag routine, but could not confirm the sugar scenario.
Also on the show tonight: Homer Simpson, who will be a part of the opening monologue.
Lohan's rep could not be reached for an immediate comment because, I'm told, she's on jury duty.

Cruise films anti-Hitler drama amid German uproar
0 Comments Published by urban on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 6:13 AM.
Media reports said the production team spent the first day, on the eve of the 63rd anniversary of the assassination attempt, at a disused airport southeast of the German capital. Because the region was the site of one of the worst final battles of the war, it has been combed for unexploded munitions that could pose a danger to the cast and crew.
The German press has given blanket coverage to the film but some officials have baulked at the choice of Cruise to play the Nazi officer Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, who was executed by firing squad after the failed bomb attack of July 20, 1944. They cite the actor's ties to the Church of Scientology, which is viewed here as a commercial outfit that exploits vulnerable people, as making him unfit to play a German martyr. "Stauffenberg stood for the most noble motives a person can have," Frank Henkel, the general secretary of the Berlin chapter of Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union, told rolling news channel NTV. "I consider Tom Cruise as a self-proclaimed ambassador of Scientology inappropriate for the role." The remarks came after sharp criticism from a number of politicians and even Stauffenberg's eldest son Berthold, 72, who has told the press that Cruise "should keep his hands off my father." A spokeswoman for the Church of Scientology centre in Berlin, Sabine Weber, said the furore over Cruise's religion was discriminatory. "The whole discussion about the faith or membership in a group of anyone should play no role in decisions of this kind," Weber said. Germans working in Hollywood have rushed to defend Cruise, saying that the criticism of the star's religion made Germany look provincial and chauvinistic.
A few commentators have noted the irony that Germany's suspicions about Scientology's allegedly "totalitarian" methods are rooted in the lessons learned from its Nazi past, while US critics point to what they call a national streak of religious intolerance. A spokesman for the finance ministry, which is responsible for granting permission to film at federal buildings, insisted yesterday that Berlin had no problem with the production, noting that Singer had won approval for all the sites on his wish list with just one exception. He said the Bendler Block, the former army headquarters in Berlin and now a memorial to the German resistance, where Stauffenberg was shot by the Nazis, would remain off-limits. But he said Scientology had nothing to do with the decision. "You can assume from the fact that we approved all the film location requests but one - for reasons that all those involved consider reasonable - that the beliefs of the actors are completely irrelevant," he said. The spokesman acknowledged that other film crews had been allowed to use the Bendler Block in the past but said experience had shown that those decisions had been "mistaken." To underline Berlin's unwillingness to create a transatlantic rift over the movie, the federal film board has agreed to subsidise the production to the tune of 4.8 million euros ($US6.6 million). Stauffenberg occupies a hallowed place in the country's postwar consciousness as proof that there were Germans willing to give their lives to stop Hitler. Although he was an ardent Nazi in the early years, he realised by 1944 that Germany was entrenched in a disastrous war that Hitler had no intention of ending. Stauffenberg and fellow conspirators planted a bomb under a table in Hitler's East Prussian headquarters, the "Wolf's Lair", in today's Poland. But the Fuehrer escaped, though he was injured, because an officer had moved the briefcase containing the explosives behind a sturdy leg of the oak table. Stauffenberg and other officers were rounded up that same night and executed. The filming of Valkyrie, after the code name for the assassination plot, is scheduled to continue until October 31 with the movie due for release next year.

The troubled singer is attempting to revive her pop career with a bold new look for the video of her new single Get Back.
The mother of two yesterday strutted her stuff in a barely there mini dress and black boots, topped with a pillbox hat and veil for the top-secret shoot in downtown Los Angeles.
The Toxic singer has reportedly sworn her aides, friends and backing dancers to secrecy over the project -- her first video in two years.
It seems Spears, 25, is getting serious about her comeback, following a bizarre series of 15-minute lip-synced concerts in May.
The black widow stylings are a far cry from the pig-tailed schoolgirl who broke on to the music scene almost a decade ago.
Since then, she's endured a very public meltdown including shaving her head, a stint in rehab, borne two sons and divorced rapper Kevin Federline.
But Spears still isn't camera shy.

The internet ad features a cartoon representation of 50 Cent and the message "shoot the Rapper and you will win $5000 or 5 ringtones guaranteed," the lawsuit says. The advertisement invites the user to use his or her computer mouse to aim and fire at the rapper, a well-known victim of gun violence. If the user fires successfully, the screen becomes bathed in red and the user is redirected to the Traffix website, the lawsuit says. The "vile, tasteless and despicable" use of 50 Cent's image was "completely unauthorised" and "quite literally calls for violence against" him, the lawsuit says. Ezio Scaldaferri, a lawyer representing Traffix, said he had not seen the lawsuit and declined comment. The bullet-scarred, tattooed rapper, whose given name is Curtis Jackson, was shot nine times in 2000 in a drive-by near his grandmother's house, where he was raised. In 2005, he starred in a movie based on his life, Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

Trainwreck mode is still in full effect.
Spears sported this look (think high-end prostitute) on the set of her “comeback” music video, shot in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.
Sources close to the singer are baffled why she is doing this video. “She doesn’t even have a choreographer,” snipes one Spears insider exclusively to PerezHilton.com.
The former pop star is choreographing the moves to her video herself!
We really do want Brit Brit to have a great comeback. We hope it happens. But we’re betting on failure.

West’s new album, Graduation, has just been pushed back to September 11th, the same day another rap game superstar, 50 Cent, releases his record, Curtis.
The two rappers have had beef for a while. Kanye knows he will most likely outsell Fiddy, hence the move, which will make him the king in that world. And even if he doesn’t move more records than 50, Kanye has no egg on his face because 50 is ‘expected’ to sell more. He just took a major shit on 50!
Smart!
Fiddy and his camp will probably leak his album so that they’d have to push it up a week and it doesn’t drop the same day as Kanye’s.
Hope he doesn’t do that.
It’d be weak!

Anyway, what I was gonna say is that Jennifer Aniston got herself into something similar after visiting Brad’s mom on June 17th.
“Brad still loves you,” Jane Pitt confided to her former daughter-in-law during a launch at Jen’s Malibu home, a family insider reveals.
Insiders say this really blew Jen away and at the same time gave her hope that they can at least have a close friendship.
On the other hand, people close to Brad wonder what his next move will be and if his relationship with Angie will survive all the stress of her weight loss, the sadness over her mother’s death, the demands of an ever-growing family, the jealously of other people and the grueling world travel.
So you tell me, what does the future hold now that Brad’s mom had told Jen about his continuing deep feelings for her? Will they reconcile?

It has been said that Heather Mills was not satisfied with her $41 million (no it’s not a typo, it is $41 million) divorce settlement offer that she recently got from Paul McCartney because she thinks the amount is to small. Go figure.
She said she’ll gladly step down from what she originally requested ($300 million) and go for $102 million instead. Wow she gave him a big discount.
I did say I’ll try to restrain myself from comments, sorry couldn’t help it.

Spears Family Slapfest; Britney Rolls With Hot Blonde
0 Comments Published by urban on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 5:02 AM.

An insider of the Spears camp told Insider that the mother and daughter got into a “shocking slap fest.” This comes as no surprise to most who have been following the Spears Family Feud. Every week there are new paparazzi pictures popping up with the pair looking more fit for a cage fighting match than a family meeting.
Spears reportedly served legal papers against her mom after this downturn. Rumor has it that Lynne is even contemplating a counter suit, but Mama Spears reportedly doesn’t completely blame her daughter, though. She believes the troubled pop princess is going through a depression.
Regardless of whether or not Britney’s depressed or a fit mother, at that, Lynne has no excuse for resulting to violence. Under no circumstance can violence be tolerated, and Britney was right to serve her mother with a restraining order. Hopefully, over time, these two can work out their differences, and put what is best for their family first.
Enjoy the pictures of Britney out with a hot little gal pal in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

After an incident of being pulled over by the LAPD, Posh confessed that while she was concerned, it wasn’t because she was afraid that she might be in trouble with the law, rather it was a wardrobe problem. My Name is Earl actress Jamie Pressly gave quite an interview to TV Guide recently, where she opens up about her pregnancy, being a new mom, and actresses who chase their career and success so much, they end up being lonely (Gee, I wonder who she's talking about?!) Pressly, and fiance Eric Cubiche, 32, are parents to son Dezzi James, 10 weeks.
Here's what she told the mag:"As a new mom, I'm supposed to go on about how wonderful it was to be pregnant. Well, I don't buy into that. The truth is that I love my baby to bits, but the rest of it sucked. Pregnancy was the biggest killer for me. I hated it -- I hated being fat.My hormones were all over the place and I acted like some lunatic, picking fights with my [fiance Eric Calvo] over how he made my coffee. On top of that, I had this hideous 'pregnancy mask' skin discoloration [note: melasma] which completely covered my face.

While doing an interview via satellite on July 10 from San Francisco for NYC’s Fox’s 5 morning show Good Day New York, Nick Lachey the topic of those infamous hot tub photos came up… and then the screen suddenly turned into a color-bar error message.
The show says the former boy band member pulled the plug himself. He was displeased with such celebrity gossip taking over his world.
“There was no technical problem,” a rep for Fox 5 tells Us Weekly.
“Even the biggest divas in the business don’t pull the plug on live interviews – it was a bizarre reaction to a simple question.”
A producer for another talk show tells Us Weekly that when they were scheduled to do a satellite interview the same day, the star’s handlers “told our control room, ‘Don’t ask about the hot tub pics.’”
We don’t know why not. Nick has a lovely girlfriend. He should be proud. You didn’t see the husband of Kristine Lefebvre say the same thing.

It’s attractive and, most likely, insane.
Unlike other, fairly stable super models - such as Petra Nemcova or Gisele Bundchen - Campbell is known for throwing telephones and causing scenes.
Perhaps she’s trying to change her image below, channel her inner Tila Tequila nude and get word out that she’s simply beautiful. Not a beautiful mess.
Meanwhile, we wonder if Diane Kruger nude is pissed at Campbell for stealing her naked thunder.

The singer is on a mission to quell all negative talk surrounding his fiancee, Tameka Foster. And there’s a whole lot of it!
It’s even emanating from Usher’s number-one fan site, usherforever.com. The woman behind the site, Erika Jackson, doesn’t seem to care for Foster. And she’s unafraid to express that view, sort of like how we aren’t scared to call out Britney Spears on her poor parenting.
“He’s had his lawyer send her papers,” an insider said of Usher’s actions.
Usher penned an open letter recently regarding the flak the couple has receiving, saying: “It’s disturbing that the media and bloggers (under the guise as ‘fans’) continuously speculate on the personal aspects of my life.”
The talk seems to have affected the singer’s career, too. The New York Daily News says Usher is likely to miss an August deadline to deliver his next album, meaning it won’t be available in gift-friendly November.
However, a spokeswoman for Jive Records said a release date had never been set.
The truth probably lies somewhere in between. But we do know this: Alexis Phifer is getting off easy compared to the wrath Foster has endured.

Cat fight! Cat fight! Meow!!!!
If you think we’re a bunch of classless pigs for making light of a family’s personal matters and hoping a sexy cat fight breaks out, well, hey, at least our celebrity news writers weren’t indicted as part of a federal dogfighting probe like Michael Vick.
Anyway, the brewing bad blood between Britney Spears and her mother has reportedly risen to a new level - it’s gotten physical.
The troubled pop princess and her mom, Lynne Spears, got into a shocking slap-fight back in mid-June that “left Lynne shaken and Britney Spears more determined than ever to cut her mother out of her life for good,” according to MSNBC.
The trouble reportedly began when Lynne Spears stopped by the house of Britney Spears without an invitation on the weekend of June 15.
“Lynne barged into the house and insisted on taking the kids out to spend some private time with them,” an insider tells Star. “She didn’t ask or suggest… she demanded! Then she began denigrating Britney’s mothering skills and losing her temper at the same time!”
What? Criticizing Britney’s parenting of Jayden James? Just because the little guy looks like he’s force-fed pork rinds doesn’t make Brit a bad mother.
Still, it was because of the cat fight that Spears recently served legal papers against her mother, but the buzz right now is that Lynne Spears is mulling a countersuit.

The Sheffield band are in line to scoop the coveted music prize for second album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', while Amy, 23, has been nominated for her hit second LP 'Back to Black'.
Amy and the Arctic Monkeys - who walked away with the prize last year for debut album 'Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not' - are joined by ten other acts on this year's shortlist, which recognises the best British album of the last 12 months.
Other nominees include The View, for 'Hats Off to the Buskers', the Klaxons, for debut 'Myths of the Near Future' and Jamie T's 'Panic Prevention'.
Previous winner rapper Dizzee Rascal is in the running with 'Maths + English', four years after winning the prize for his debut 'Boy In Da Corner'.
Simon Frith, who chairs the judging panel, said: "This year's Nationwide Mercury Prize shortlist marks the emergence of a wealth of eclectic talent making music with great energy, excitement and personality."
Amy and the Arctic Monkeys have already been installed as joint favourites to walk away with the accolade by bookmakers who are offering odds of 4/1.
The winner, who will be announced on September 4, will collect also £20,000 prize money.

Baldwin, brother of actors William, Stephen and Alec Baldwin, allowed "Primetime" to chart his progress through a three-month drug treatment program at Renaissance Malibu, in Malibu, Calif. He taped more than 19 video entries for "Primetime."
"I've been very thorough in my recovery, and identified where I am powerless," the 46-year-old actor said. "And I'm truly powerless over cocaine. There's no question about that in my life."
Last year, police said they found Baldwin and another man in a Santa Monica motel, along with cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Prosecutors declined to file felony charges.
"It's difficult to look into this camera," Baldwin said. "It's difficult to talk about, you know, my inadequacies, my inability to stay sober when I'm a relatively bright man and I've had a lot of great blessings and a lot of great opportunities."
Baldwin, who appeared in TV's "Homicide: Life on the Street," said he tried to "get things fixed so quickly" but has now accepted that addiction will be a part of his life.
"Fact of the matter is, I will never recover," he said. "I will just always be in recovery and stay sober, so I pray."
Baldwin said in a statement posted on Renaissance Malibu's Web site that he had tried nine other treatment centers in his battle with addiction.

Starting Wednesday, the 35-year-old singer will make public service announcements as part of the "Llama y Vive (Call and Live)" counter-trafficking campaign that has already done work in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Peru.
The ads will publicize a phone line that offers free help and information about trafficking.
Posters and other informational material will be distributed throughout the Dominican Republic, where, according to the Geneva-based International Organization for Migration, both men and women have been trafficked for sexual exploitation.
"According to some reports, more women are trafficked from the Dominican Republic than from any other country in the Western Hemisphere," said Jemini Pandya of IOM, which is working with Martin's charitable foundation.
The IOM says Dominican victims of trafficking are often taken elsewhere in the Caribbean or to Latin America or Europe. The organization also has documented cases of minors trafficked within the country for sexual exploitation, usually to tourist destinations on the coast.
Martin, whose hits include "She Bangs," "Shake Your Bon-Bon" and "Livin' La Vida Loca," started the Ricky Martin Foundation to help children in need.
Obama has raised more than $58 million for his White House bid. Forbes magazine estimates that Winfrey, the Chicago-based host who boasts a lot more, including a magazine, is worth $1.5 billion.
Obama already enjoys the support of Hollywood moguls like David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Winfrey's fundraiser is another chance for him to tap into money in California, which was his top donor state from April through June with a total take of $4.2 million.
Winfrey is a well-known fan of Obama, calling him "my favorite guy" and "my choice" on CNN's "Larry King Live" last year before he announced he would run for president.
Recently, one of the more popular YouTube videos is Amber Lee Ettinger, aka Obama Girl, in a racy performance titled, "I Got A Crush On Obama."
Yet, when Obama appeared on Oprah's show last year, Winfrey asked him if he would announce a presidential bid on her program.
"I don't think I could say no to you," Obama replied. "Oprah, you're my girl."
